I love the eerie atmosphere. It leads me to believe that Elphaba's back, doesn't necessarily want everyone and their dog to know about it, and it's also with a serious vengeance. She's going to fuck shit up and every body better get the hell out of her way.

So, clearly this is some time after the Wizard abdicated, long enough for the rumors of Elphaba's continued existence to spread. It's clear that coming back is not something she would want to be doing, but that look says she's going to do what's right, whatever that is. Also that it seems important that the world continues to believe she is dead.

Might be her granddaughter. At the end of "Son of a Witch", she turned out to be green (and waterproof).

Wonderful drawing, I love her dress, though she doesn't look very happy about the slogan (then again, she tends to be pretty unhappy toward the end of Wicked, so...). Also-the blue diamond, possible reference to Fiyero or just added in?

Really like this piece! Love the intensity in her expression, and the background, and the dark colors! Also, the little blue diamond on her neckline - a reference to Fiyero, perhaps? Beautiful work!
